Universal Power Factor Corrected Power Supply State-of-the-art power supply
The unique HALCRO Universal Power Factor Corrected Power Supply (UPFC) has been developed specifically to overcome audio problems with conventional power supplies used throughout the high-end audio industry:
HALCRO's UPFC creates no distortion or interference to the mains supply.
Produces no troublesome mains current surges at 100 or 120Hz.
Automatically operates at any mains voltage variation between 85V through to
270Vr.m.s. without the need for internal or external switches.
Less than 100 parts per million mains hum and ripple on the amplifier power
rails.
Conventional power factor corrected power supplies over 200 watts are illegal
in all EU countries since January 2002 due to a change in CE laws.
Conventional power supplies will also produce audio problems. The HALCRO UPFC
eliminates these problems as well:
It switches at frequencies above 100kHz regardless of the mains voltage or
power
consumption, eliminating interference near the audio range.
It requires no internal fan for cooling.
The HALCRO power supply is housed in the lower of the two compartments and is heavily shielded from the amplifier circuitry. It is protected from mains transients, and the inputs and outputs have high levels of filtering, both common and series-mode to cut out R.F. interference and mains spikes and glitches.
