The HALCRO amplifiers look at home in the domestic environment because
of the soft textural finishes and classic look. The integrated solid wooden
feet do away with the need for stands. The amplifier and power supply are
housed in two completely separated compartments suspended between two sculpted
pillars housing the heatsinks. The heatsinks, often the least attractive
feature of an amplifier have been capped for functional, as well as aesthetic
reasons. The caps channel the flow of air over the heatsinks, much like
a chimney draws air over a fire, to effect very efficient heat transfer
from the 30 square feet of heatsink surface in every HALCRO monoblock
amplifier.
Components
To guarantee the finest audio quality and maximize reliability, HALCRO
amplifiers use only the best higher specification "industrial grade" components
rather than merely "commercial grade" used in most high-end products. Six
layer printed circuit boards in the power amplifier minimize stray magnetic
fields and accurately define voltages. Four layer printed circuit boards
in the power supply minimize E.M.I and voltage transients, which provides
superior reliability and power efficiency.
